Rising returns to their home stadium just four days from their regular season home opener. The opener at the new stadium was a success as a new franchise record was set for attendance with 10,437 people in the stands.

Rising welcomed San Diego for the opener and played them to a 2-2 draw. Rising saw both goals come from Arteaga (35th and 63rd minute) with one being unassisted and the other being assisted by Uzochukwu. San Diego saw their goals come from Moon (72nd minute) and Damus (80th minute), Bodily assisted the Moon goal while Damus scored unassisted. Compared to the last game against the Loyal, Rising saw a drastic decrease in possession, a slight decrease in passing accuracy but they were able to double their shots on target.

To open the 2023 Open Cup Rising is home against Greenville Triumph. In 2022 Rising won their first two games against Valley United and New Mexico United until they ultimately were eliminated by Sacramento Republic in the round of 32. Greenville eliminated USL side Oakland Roots last year in the second round (who at the time was coached by Juan Guerra) and ultimately in the third round MLS side Charlotte. So far this year Greenville has only played one game so there's not much to analyze. In the one game this year Greenville was defeated by Richmond 1-0 in league play. Looking at the stats Greenville dominated possession and shots but we're unable to comeback from a 12th minute goal from Richmond.

Kickoff tonight is at 7:30 as Rising hopes to still get their first win in 2023. The game will be live streamed on YouTube for those who can't make the game.
