In a surprise announcement, President Jake Edwards has departed from the United Soccer League after almost a decade with the organization. Edwards, who spent eight years as President, oversaw the transformation of professional divisions and historic CBAs.

"All of us at the USL are grateful for the contributions that Jake Edwards has made to growing not only the USL, but also soccer in America," said Papadakis. "When we outlined our vision for the future of the USL more than a decade ago, Jake proved to be the right leader at the right time to guide our organization through this transformative period. Jake will always be part of the USL family."

As a USL fan, this news has left many of us wondering what this means the league as a whole. Under Edwards' leadership, Phoenix Rising FC's success has been highlighted in numerous interviews and discussions. However, we are confident that the USL will continue to grow and thrive without him.

We wish Jake Edwards all the best in his future endeavors and look forward to seeing where the USL goes next.
